What We're All About

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is the first local resource center founded to help strengthen the capacity of the nonprofit community through training and technical assistance, information sharing, education, and collaboration. Located in Charlottesville, we also serve the surrounding counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson.   Hear Wendy Brown, co-founder of CNE talk about its history and purpose.

Our Goals:

  • Create a resource center that promotes excellence in nonprofit service delivery
  • Build on the existing excellence in our community
  • Provide tools and resources to assist and develop leadership and management skills among nonprofit executives, board members, and staff
  • Strengthen collaboration among the nonprofit sector and academics, business, foundations, and donors
  • Identify and promote the contributions made by the nonprofit sector
